‘He crossed over the solid yellow line for a period of time’- LPD Narcotic Detective Noah Riggs

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Most have likely noticed, La Follette Police patrols have recently become very active and most times quite visible. A Heiskell man learned that the hard way Monday afternoon.

“While on duty I saw a black 2009 Mazda M6I travel east on East Beech and then turn east on East Central Avenue. As the Mazda approached the post office, it was in the left lane with the driver’s side tires crossing the solid yellow line and stayed across the line for a period of time,” said Narcotic Det. Noah Riggs.

Riggs checked the license plate on the car, and it came back on a Glenn McCullah showing his driver’s license was suspended, based on the information from LPD.

A traffic stop was made at the entrance to DeRoyal. McCullah allegedly explained he had paid all of his fines for his license and just needed to have them remade.

Riggs arrested McCullah, and before placing him in the cruiser, Riggs patted McCullah down. Allegedly located in McCullah’s right pant pocket was an open corner baggie with a crystal-like substance with an approximate weight of 1.0 grams along with a baggie with 10 yellow capsules with imprint. Riggs suspected the pills to be a schedule V narcotic.

Prior to the Mazda being towed, during the inventory of the vehicle, Riggs allegedly recovered McCullah’s wallet form the car with four unopened Suboxone packages, according to the report from LPD. “McCullah stated that he had a prescription for the medication but did not have it with him,” said Riggs.

McCullah, 53, 9427 Hidden Branch Lane, Heiskell, was transported to the Campbell County Jail. Charges levied against McCullah include driving with license suspended/cancelled/revoked, possession of schedule II (meth) with intent/manufacture/sell/deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule III and schedule V.
