Caryville Planning Commission meets; Aug. Board of Mayor and Aldermen agenda is below

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- The Town of Caryville Planning Commission met on Thursday afternoon. The commission approved a permit for signage for the new market coming to Main Street. Kevin Ward is preparing to open an Amish Style Market and Deli, he told the commission he anticipated being open in the next three weeks.

The commission discussed a building permit for the Pilot Travel Center at Exit 141, the permit is for remodeling inside the store.  The next building permit discussed was for the Sunrise Café, members of the commission discussed the business lack of a building permit and a business permit.

A site plan for Esquire Management LLC was approved. The plan adds two units to be built in between existing apartments.

Two potential areas have been identified to expand the Urban Growth Boundary. Before the areas can be officially added the board of mayor and aldermen will need to vote on it.

  1. Council to discuss first reading of Ordinance NO. 2025-07 to modify Title 18 water and sewers of the Caryville Municipal Code by removing all references of the repealed Tennessee rule 1200-04-14 and replacing said references with 0400-40-14 to which the repealed rules were transferred.
