Community Health of East Tennessee-CHET is WLAF’s Business of the Week

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- In honor of National Health Center Week, WLAF is recognizing Community Health of East Tennessee as Business of the Week.

The Health Clinic held a celebration on Thursday in appreciation of “patients and employees” with around a dozen health vendors set up in CHET’s lobby.

The clinic started as a grassroots nonprofit organization 44 years ago and “has grown to be a service agency providing integral health and social services to Campbell County”.

The clinic is a cornerstone of the community and plays an integral role in the health and wellbeing of Campbell Countians, serving thousands of patients a year.

Community Health of East Tennessee is WLAF’s Business of the Week! The clinic celebrated National Health Center Week on Thursday with multiple area health vendors in attendance.

The health clinic offers a full range of health services to fit the needs of the community, handling primary care, pediatric needs, medication assistance, endocrinology, in-house labs, x rays, and more. Earlier this year, CHET added a dental clinic which is “a big bonus” for the area.

CHET offers in-house lab and X-ray, medication assistance, primary care, pediatrics, endocrinology and more. According to CHET CEO Teresa Dabney, the dental clinic has current openings for ages 12 and up. TennCare is accepted.

The fully staffed clinic provides much needed medical care to the community.

Area health vendors were set up inside Community Health of East Tennessee on Thursday in recognition of National Health Center Week. 

Community Health of East Tennessee began in January of 1980 as TN Respiratory Clinics. The clinic was also called REACHS for decades. The clinic became a Federally Qualified Health Center in 2012.

CHET “accepts most insurance plans and offers a sliding fee scale for uninsured or underinsured patients”.

Vice County Mayor Randy Brown and Keisha Howard with the county mayor’s office attended the event which recognized CHET employees and the difference they make in the community.

The clinic offers Health Care, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Behavioral Health, Black lung, Recovery, a Veteran’s Affairs clinic, dental health and more.
