Councilman Chuck Queener has expressed a desire to see the downtown clock working again. There was an attempt at repairing the clock previously, however due to lack of maintenance, the clock could not be repaired. Foust told the council last night that he had received an estimate to replace the clock. Purchasing a clock with chimes would cost $27,701 with chimes and $23,806 without chimes with a three year warranty. The clock would require yearly maintenance, members of the council requested Foust get the cost for maintenance before the monthly meeting when the council will decide how to move forward.

The recreation department has a playground structure they want to declare as surplus. The council discussed what would happen once it was declared surplus. The Christian Academy of Campbell County has voiced a desire for the structure; however some members of the council didn’t feel it would be fair to donate the structure to the academy.
