It was a tense few minutes for all concerned late Friday afternoon

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The call of an 18-wheeler off the road and in Norris Lake came in to Central Dispatch Friday afternoon at 4:40.

The driver of this 18-wheeler escaped with his life Friday afternoon.

The rig left Flat Hollow Road and veered into Norris Lake, according to officials. Reports coming in to WLAF are that the cab of the 18-wheeler was partially underwater, and that the driver was still inside.

. There were no injuries.

A little later, it was said that the driver was sticking his head out of the window of the cab. Just before 5pm, the driver was able to safely make it out of the truck, officials said.
