Kevin Potter and Adonis Leonard are found guilty
JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Last week, two guilty verdicts were returned in two unrelated trials.
Potter found guilty
On July 10, after a three-day trial, a Campbell County Jury found Kevin Potter guilty of the sale of more than 0.5 grams of methamphetamine in a drug free zone (2 counts), possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule 2, possession of schedule 1, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge Zachary R. Walden ordered Potter to remain in custody without bond and scheduled sentencing for Nov. 3. This case was investigated by Chief Joe Hopson of the Jellico Police Department, formerly of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. The State was assisted at trial by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab, and the Campbell County Property Assessor’s Office. At trial, the State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys General Andi Bridges and Lindsey Cadle.
Leonard found guilty
On July 11, after a two-day trial, a Campbell County Jury found Adonis Leonard guilty of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, a class E felony; DUI 2nd offense, a class A misdemeanor; driving on revoked for DUI, a class B misdemeanor; and reckless driving, a class B misdemeanor. Â
Following the guilty verdict, Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge Zachary R. Walden scheduled sentencing for Sept. 15. Â
This case was investigated by Trooper Korey Holbert of the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Assisting in the prosecution was Jacksboro Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Forensic Services Unit. At trial, the State of Tennessee was represented by Assistant District Attorney General Katie S. Fair.
