I-75 north in Campbell County was temporarily bogged down Friday morning
JELLICO, TN (WLAF)- The first of two accidents involving an 18-wheeler was called in to Central Dispatch around 5am Friday. The second call of a big rig wreck came in soon thereafter.

The initial mishap occurred at Mile Marker 158, a couple of miles south of Jellico, and involved two 18-wheelers. One rig was hauling water, the other lemonade, according to authorities. There were no injuries, though the left lane was blocked for a short time.
It was determined that neither rig suffered enough damage to keep them from being driven. So, they moved on. Or at least, they tried. A couple of miles up the road, one of the semis had to take Exit 160 at Jellico because of a major fuel leak.

Daniel Lawson, Assistant Director for Campbell County EMA, was able to get the fuel spill contained. It was a while before a wrecker arrived and a company to pump the tank off, according to Lawson.
A short time later, another 18-wheeler wrecked. It ended up hitting the center barrier of I-75 at Mile Marker 137, three miles north of Caryville. Lawson also worked that wreck. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/11/2025-7AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF DANIEL LAWSON)
