LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Rex Adams, the construction supervisor on the project for the new McDonald’s for La Follette, wanted to get the concrete poured before the temperature went up and the rain came down on Wednesday morning. So, by 8am, the pour of the concrete was underway.

Hayley Torres, the on site tech for Atlas Technical Consultants, travels all over the country and has been doing this for four years.

However, before the guys from T&E Concrete Service could really start to unload the mix from the truck, Timothy Parrott from T & E concrete service filled a bucket with concrete so Hayley Torres with Atlas Technical Consultants could conduct a slump test. The test makes sure the concrete meets the specifications for this job. After doing the test proving the concrete was up to specs, Torres gave Adams the thumbs up and the pour was on.

From a little after 8am until a little after 10am the T&E crew poured 40 yards of concrete for the footers. Adams kept an eye on the pour to make sure the concrete remained level around the footer and that the bolts that the steel bolts to did not get covered up with concrete.

“If weather permits, they may start to hang steel Thursday and maybe even start some block work,” said Adams.
