LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Dylan Smith is facing a litany of charges following a traffic stop on Monday.
LaFollette Police noticed Smith’s 2009 Hyundai had a non-working taillight and executed a traffic stop, the arrest report said.
He was unable to give police a driver’s license and proof of insurance. His driver’s license was revoked, Smith allegedly told police.
Prior to officers searching the car, Smith, 28, Caryville, said there hypodermic needles in the driver’s door, the report said. As police removed the needles, they also allegedly found .2 grams of a “white crystal like- substance” believed to be methamphetamine, records said. A red torch lighter and red scale with white residue were also allegedly discovered.
Smith admitted those items “and anything else found in the vehicle would be his because it is his vehicle,” according to the LPD report.
He was charged with driving on a revoked/ suspended driver’s license, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the Tennessee Financial Law and violation of the light law.
He’s currently in jail with a $6,500 bond.
