Tuesday opens with single-digit wind chills, temps in the 20s and slippery spots

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Extra travel time, being cautious and not getting in a hurry will pay dividends for you as you drive and walk today. A dusting of snow is on most side roads with main roads primarily wet. Black ice is a concern on bridges and overpasses.
Tuesday’s temperatures do not climb above freezing. We’ll see more clouds than sun with a high of 31 ahead of a low of 17 Tuesday night.
The coldest temperatures will be Thursday morning with lows in the teens to single digits.
By Friday, an impactful winter storm arrives. There’s potential for accumulating snowfall for Campbell County and much of the region.
However, there is still uncertainty regarding the track of the system and its development, which will affect precipitation types and amounts. Stay connected to WLAF for details with later forecasts as we get closer to the weekend.
We stay dry and continued cold for the beginning of next week. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/07/2024-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF MARK NAGI WITH THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION)
