Suspect allegedly confirms it was him on store video

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- LaFollette Police Officer Austin Tindell was dispatched to Food City about a theft that had occurred. When Tindell arrived he spoke with the store’s loss prevention officer who reported that Tyler Reece Paul had stolen a case of beer from the store. He continued that he approached Paul to try and retrieve the items, but Paul told him that he did not steal the items and drove off the property.

Officer Tindell found Paul at his LaFollette home and spoke with him about the incident. Paul stated that he did not steal the items, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.

The officer then showed Paul the video where Paul confirmed it was him, but stated it was two months ago to which Officer Tindell told him the video was timestamped from Nov. 27, 2024.

Paul, 18, 132 Eastgate Drive, LaFollette was charged with theft of property less than $1,000. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/13/2024-6AM)
