JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Accepting the bid for the jail and courthouse security upgrades will be voted on at next week’s commission meeting. The contract includes several change orders that will allow the purchase of a transport vehicle for the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department and other items.
At Monday’s workshop, commissioners briefly discussed the construction project. Prior to the workshop, the Jail Committee approved the Jail/Courthouse Security System Upgrade Construction Contract with the low bidder, ECC, in the amount of $1,432,869.89, including a $65,000 contingency allowance. This item now goes to the full commission to be voted on next week.
The contract also includes several change orders that reduced the cost of the project by $57,301.49 through “utilizing some less costly network switches and PC with these savings to be used to provide for a transportation vehicle and other small equipment needs in the Sheriff’s Office.â€
A five-year extended warranty proposal from ECC on the security system at a cost of $21,850 per year will also be voted on. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/10/2024-6AM)
