Warmest temperatures of Thursday have passed

Teens for lows are ahead Thursday night.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Early Thursday temperatures in the 50s served as the high for the day as a strong cold front moving into Campbell County around daybreak will leave much colder, drier air in place.

Temperatures tumble through the day all the way to 25 by sunset as bitter wind chills prevail. It’s then on down to 14 by sun up on Friday.

Fire danger is elevated Thursday due to the gusty winds and incoming very dry air. Downed trees across roadways and power lines are a major concern.

The first power outages came about just before 5am Thursday likely a result of strong winds.

Weather will be cold but rain-free for Saturday nights Christmas Parade.

A warming trend begins over the weekend and into early next week. Widespread rain is possible Sunday night. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/05/2024-6AM-IMAGE COURTESY OF THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE)
