CCHS takes second place in SNI All-Service Raider competition

Campbell High competed against around 70 other Raider teams from across the nation

MOLENA, GA (WLAF)- Campbell County High School’s JROTC Raider team had a great finish to its season over the weekend, taking home 2^nd Overall All-Service win in Master Division Male at the Sports Network International’s (SNI) All Service Nationals.

The competition was held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Gerald Lawhorn Scout Reservation in Molena, Georgia, with CCHS competing against around 70 other Raider teams from across the nation from all service branches of the military.

Raider competitions test personal fitness with competitions such as long-distance running, obstacle courses, rope bridges, tire drags, first aid and cross-country rescue and more.

Campbell County High School Raider team members took home 2^nd place in the Rope Bridge, 2^nd in the Gauntlet, 3^rd in the Physical Team Test, 3^rd in Cross Country Rescue and 5^th in the 5K Team Run event.

According to CCHS JROTC Instructor Major Mike Lester, the “cadets did great,” earning multiple trophies and rounding out the season with a great finish.

“Amazing work from some awesome young men and women! It’s been an outstanding year! I’m so proud of our team, always doing more with less!” Major Lester said.

Raider competitions are held within Junior ROTC programs around the United States from all services. It is the Junior ROTC equivalent of the Army ROTC “Ranger” competition in college and “requires a high level of fitness, dedication and commitment to compete in.”

According to organizers, the All-Service Raider Championships features some of the most hard-working Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force JROTC Raider teams in the nation.
