Traffic was backed up for miles for the better part of three hours on Wednesday

This non-injury wreck kept northbound travelers creeping along for hours on Wednesday afternoon on I-75.

RIDGEWOOD, TN (WLAF)- On Thursday, southbound travelers through Campbell County were delayed for the balance of the day after northbound travelers were inconvenienced for hours on Wednesday.

Thursday’s southbound slowdown was caused by a truck fire a few hundred yards south of the Ridgewood train trestle that spans I-75. It was a wrecked U-Haul truck in the left northbound lane between the Old Mill Road bridge and the Ridgewood train trestle that triggered Wednesday’s northbound delays.

There were no injuries, just delays, on I-75 resulting from this Wednesday afternoon wreck.

The Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Department was the first agency on the scene followed by assistance from Campbell County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Campbell County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

There were no injuries in either incident. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/18/2024-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF RIDGEWOOD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT CHIEF JOSEPH ROACH)
