LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The fun of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 The 70s trips back to January 8, 1972, Saturday at 7 pm over WLAF radio. The three hours of memories are brought to you by Maynard’s Auto Parts and State Representative Dennis Powers.
Perhaps the most unique song of the ’70s airs on this week’s show, American Pie from Don McLean. Badfinger was climbing the chart with Day After Day while Without You by Harry Nilsson was the biggest mover climbing 18 spots. Melana Safka’s biggest song, Brand New Key, was on AT40 for the third month. In addition to these songs, you’ll hear the nation’s other top 36 songs over WLAF just like they all played here on the old radio station in 1972.
