Chapter 1148 has grown to 120 members in just three years

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Thursday evening was perfect weather for the 3rd annual Vietnam Veteran Chapter 1148 picnic at Cove Lake State Park.  Chapter 1148 has grown to 120 members in just three years.  Recognized at the 2023 and 2024 state conference as the fastest growing chapter in the state and nationally. 

The AVVA (Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America) includes Helen Ross, Joann Davis, Vivian Loudy, Gail Brown, Helen Connor, Emma McCarty, Local President and Janice Kitts.  There are currently 15 members in the group.
It was a great evening with 80 folks attending the picnic.

Thursdays picnic also served as a “think tank” for the Veterans Day parade.  The Chapter is working hard to have the biggest and best Veterans Day parade Campbell County has seen.

The picnic included grilled burgers with all the toppings and all the sides you could ever want.

What a treat to end the picnic, homemade ice cream in four flavors
