The final hot dog sales tally is Cumberland 2,848 and Valley 2,721; a total of 5,569 hot dogs sold
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Thousands of hot dogs were sold at both Big O’s locations, Valley and Cumberland, during July’s Hot Dog Wars, and the sales lead for hot dogs went back and forth between both stores. However, by the end of the month, Cumberland edged out Valley for the victory by a final score of 2,848 to 2,721. “The war built some good employee morale and really hit home with our customers,” said Chris Busbee, Big O’s Manager.

Sheila, Carla and Angie were your hosts on Wednesday at Big O’s Valley.
Busbee’s idea also helped celebrate the 4th of July in a most fun way. “Both Big O’s are generally matched fairly evenly in hot dog sales at about 1,400 a store monthly,” said Busbee.

Wednesday’s Big O’s Cumberland staff included Chris, Carlie, Pepper and James when WLAF’s Charlie Hutson made a visit.
The promotion was a chance for our employees to test their selling skills.

Hot dogs have been a crowd favorite especially during the July Hot Dog Wars at Big O’s.
“They really surpassed my expectations,” said Busbee.

One dog down. Two to go. July’s Hot Dog Wars special was three hot dogs for $5.69.
“We were glad to give our customers a price break with three hot dogs for $5.69. It was a really good and interesting war between both locations,” Busbee added.

On the last day of the July wars, yesterday, customers were coming in to Cumberland saying they were in the area and wanted to support that Big O’s in the Hot Dog Wars, according to Busbee. Customers were doing the same thing at Big O’s Valley just last week, Busbee noted.
