JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- For more than a month, no one who had requested a petition to run in the November 5th election had returned a filled out petition. That is until Thursday. Pat Russell Donahue, seeking the Ward 1 Alderman seat for the Town of Caryville, turned in her petition yesterday.
A petition was picked up on Thursday by Mike Evans. Evans plans to run for one of the City of La Follette’s two council seats.
Monday, June 17, was the first day to pick up a petition to run in the November election, and 12 petitions have been requested so far. The deadline to qualify is Thu., Aug. 15, at noon.
ELECTION INFORMATION FOR NOVEMBER 2024 RACE

The City of La Follette and the Town of Caryville have seven combined posts to be filled. Caryville will elect a mayor (Bobby Stooksbury) and three aldermen; Ward 1 (Patrick Pebley), Ward 2 (Eric Jones) and Ward 3 (Lloyd Lawson). Voters in the City of La Follette will elect a mayor (Cliff Jennings) and two council members (Phillip Farmer and Wayne Kitts). Incumbents are in parentheses.
Caryville Mayor Bobby Stooksbury announced in May that he will not seek re-election.
