‘We’ve had nine petitions picked up with none returned, so far’- Mallory Rosenfeld, Administrator of Elections
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The November General Election is set for Tue., Nov. 5, and that seems like a long way off, and it is. However, anyone wishing to have their name on that ballot has until Thu., Aug. 15, at noon, to pick up a petition and have it returned to qualify to run.
Monday, June 17, was the first day to pick up a petition to run in the November election, and nine petitions have been requested so far. As of close of business on Wednesday, none of the nine potential candidates has returned a petition, and no petitions have been requested in days.
ELECTION INFORMATION FOR NOVEMBER 2024 RACE
November (incumbent)
The City of LaFollette and the Town of Caryville have seven combined posts to be filled. Caryville will elect a mayor (Bobby Stooksbury) and three aldermen; Ward 1 (Patrick Pebley), Ward 2 (Eric Jones) and Ward 3 (Lloyd Lawson). Voters in the City of LaFollette will elect a mayor (Cliff Jennings) and two council members (Phillip Farmer and Wayne Kitts). Incumbents are in parentheses.
Caryville Mayor Bobby Stooksbury announced in May that he will not seek re-election.
