First responders were called out to a wreck on Jellico Hwy at 2:29am Wednesday

Given the positioning of the truck, first responders were forced to filet the roof of this truck to free two victims.

DUFF, TN (WLAF) – Near Lick Creek in the 4600 block of Highway 25W north of La Follette is where two females were entrapped and injured in a single-vehicle wreck. It took first responders with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service and La Follette Rescue Squad a half-hour to free the victims from a Toyota Tundra pick-up truck.

The truck left the two lane highway and wrecked on its side in a ditch, according to officials. The two females, from out of county, were entrapped as a result.

A lot of stabilizing of the truck had to be performed before first responders could begin the extrication, based on comments from one official.

The driver, a 31 year old female, was transported by Campbell EMS to the La Follette Medical Center helipad and was airlifted by a medical helicopter around 4:30 Wednesday morning. The other passenger was transported to the La Follette Medical Center.
