Man airlifted after tree falls on him

Accident occurred near the state garage

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The call of a tree falling on a man came in to Central Dispatch Sunday evening at 6:42 prompting the Campbell County Rural Fire Service and Sheriff’s Office to respond.

Near State Lane and Carr Drive, in the area of across General Carl Stiner Highway from Big O’s Valley, is where first responders found a man free from being under a tree, based on comments from one first responder.

Crews from the CCRFS and CCSO carried the patient from a wooded area to a field where a medical helicopter landed. There was not a Campbell County EMS Unit available so Anderson County EMS responded, according to Campbell County 911.

The medical helicopter was able to land reasonably close to the scene of the accident.
