LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Roane State Community College is offering a Quick Books Class and a Conversational Business Spanish course.

These classes could potentially be free for those living in Campbell, Anderson, Fentress, Loudon, Morgan, Roane or Scott County by applying for the WORC grant, according to Campbell County Campus Director Sharon Wilson.

The grant is coming close to the end of its cycle, and Wilson encourages those wishing to apply to do so as soon as possible to qualify for grant funds.

“Both of these courses are through the U.S. Department of Labor Grant, and we’re getting close to the end of the grant cycle, so the earlier you submit your application, the better chances of getting approved for a scholarship,” Wilson said.

The Conversational Business Spanish course is set to start on April 23 with classes running through May 28th. Classes will be on Tuesdays from 5:30pm till 8pm.

“This Spanish course is great for any company that has Spanish speaking customers; it’s going to be a great class to take,” Wilson said.

A class start date has not yet been announced on the Quick Books classes, however, Wilson is encouraging those interested to go ahead and apply to be eligible for the WORC grant scholarship.

“The Quick Books class is really beneficial for small businesses and non-profits. A lot of non-profits and small businesses use this program for their payroll and the class will be a great asset,” Wilson said.

All classes will be taught at the Roane State Community College campus in Campbell County.

The project is funded by a grant from the U.S Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission.
