It’s rain-free but blustery and mild for today’s annual event

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The second annual Spring Fling and Music Festival hosted by Postmark LaFollette promises a day packed with entertainment, activities, and musical performances. It’s set to take place Sat., April 13 from 10am to 6pm. The fest will be held in downtown LaFollette at 119 South Tennessee Avenue.

Headlining the event are Kenny and Amanda Smith, renowned musicians in the bluegrass genre. Kenny Smith will also lead a master guitar workshop, open to enthusiasts for a fee of $25, with pre-registration available online. “As a guitar player or anyone interested in bluegrass or acoustic music it’s worth every penny,” Joseph Hensley with Postmark LaFollette said.

Attendees can expect a diverse range of activities, including a tribute to Steve Gulley, a designated “KIDSZONE”, and a multitude of vendors offering food, crafts, and art. Limited admission tours of the Historic LaFollette Post Office will be available, featuring insights from Irene Miller, the first Postmistress of LaFollette, portrayed by Sadie Bright. Additionally, the arts and crafts center will be open, showcasing the “Footprints and Imprints” history exhibit. Inside Postmark LaFollette, visitors can enjoy vendor stalls and caricature art by John Lamaire.
For convenience, the festival offers handicap parking, accessible bathrooms, and transportation facilities. Throughout the day, live music will fill the air, featuring performances by a lineup of talented artists including Greg Marlow, Joseph and Samantha Hensley, Dustin Ford, Daniel Chumley, Mountain Memory, Josh McDowell, and Smiley and the Lovedawg.
You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, although some seating will be provided. An open Acoustic Jam Tent will be set up for music enthusiasts to participate in jam sessions throughout the day, including a special kids’ jam hour.
