Wreckage ended up right in front of Doyle’s Tire Shop

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A wreck involving an SUV and a four door sedan has claimed a man’s life.

Not long before 4pm Wednesday two vehicles collided on the Jacksboro bound side of the four lane into the cut across, according to one witness.

The wreckage ended up on the other side of the road with the sedan coming to a rest next to a utility pole facing the four lane. The SUV was about 50-feet away on the shoulder facing toward Jacksboro also on the south side of Jacksboro Pike.

A young woman, shaken, but uninjured, was behind the wheel of this SUV.

The man in the silver Toyota sedan was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger continued receiving care from LaFollette Fire Department first responders. A medical helicopter landed in the east bound lanes around 4:30pm and soon transported the passenger from the car.

First responders tend to the injured passenger from the car.

LaFollette Police and Fire along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Campbell County EMS responded along with other off duty emergency personnel.

LaFollette bound traffic was backed up for miles, well beyond the Jacksboro Middle School.

The investigation continues. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/27/2024-4:45PM-UPDATED 03/28/2024-4AM)
