LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On Fri., Mar. 1, at 10am, a call about a man sleeping next to the dumpsters sent LaFollette Police Officer Austin Tindell to 2550 Jacksboro Pike, LaFollette, to the Y-12 Federal Credit Union. When Tindell arrived, he found the man, later identified as David Wayne Norris, sleeping behind the wheel of his car, with a glass pipe with residue inside of it, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.

Tindell asked Norris to step out of the 1990 grey Lincoln Town car and placed him under arrest. When asked if there was anything illegal in the car, Norris allegedly reported there was not. However, during the vehicle search, a silver container with two baggies with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine (weighing approximately 0.2 grams in one bag and 0.7 grams in the other) were located. Also found was a Suboxone strip in the packaging.

Norris, 51, 896 Glade Springs Rd, LaFollette was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to redistribute and possession of schedule III controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/14/2024-6AM)
