LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The LaFollette City Council met Tuesday afternoon with an agenda filled with promotions and new hires.

Right up top was administration with three positions to be filled. The first hire was Stuart Hurwitz as a full-time Codes Enforcement Officer, next was the hiring of two full-time assistants in the Finance Department, those hires are Judy Brown and Laura Smith. All three hires were approved and will be effective March 9.

The fire department had two promotions on the agenda approved. They include promoting Samuel Finley to a full-time entry level fire fighter at a salary of $32,009.64 and promoting Joshua Miracle to full-time entry level fire fighter at a salary of $32,009.64, both will be effective March 9.

The police department had four promotions and two hires approved beginning with Shane Tielman to full time lieutenant at a salary of $42,966.98, next was Isiah Lloyd to a full time sergeant at a salary of $39,964.08, Adam Southern to a full time sergeant at a salary of $39,964.08, promoting Jesse Ferguson to a temporary sergeant position pending Sergeant Michael Satkowski returning to duty (from illness) at a salary of $39,964.08. Finally hiring two full time dispatchers, Taunja Emery and Stephanie Lockwood was approved.  All changes will be effective March 9.
