JOHNSON CITY, TN (WLAF) – The Jellico Blue Devils are a win away from their first-ever berth in the state basketball tournament at Murphy Center on the MTSU campus. The University High Buccaneers are a win away from back-to-back appearances at state. The winner of tonight’s Jellico-University game will play in next week’s tourney.

At Brooks Gym, on the ETSU campus, is where the Blue Devils and the Buccaneers will square off tonight at 7:00. It’s University’s home court. WLAF and WJJT will provide dual radio coverage like last week. Jellico, of Region 2, District 3, and University High, representing Region 1, District 1, are two of the last 16 teams in Single-A still alive in the post season. Tonight’s win vaults the victor into the Elite 8 with the next game on Mar. 13, at MTSU.
