JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell Lady Cougars spotted Oak Ridge the first six points on Saturday night. That was all the Lady Wildcats needed to jump start their visit to Brown Gym.

Oak Ridge was its usual self; pressing, bumping, poking and taking Campbell totally out of its game. That coupled with Oak Ridge’s hot first quarter shooting spelled trouble for the 17 & 2 Lady Cougars as the Lady Wildcats were ahead 23 to 9 after one.

Campbell was able to carve into Oak Ridge’s 16 point lead while the Lady Wildcats went scoreless for almost four minutes of the second quarter. With 3:27 until halftime, Campbell made it an eight point game, but then Oak Ridge caught fire again scoring 12 of the final 14 points to go on top by its largest margin of 18, 40-22.

During the third quarter, Oak Ridge only outscored Campbell 15 to 12 building its largest lead along the way at 23, 50-27. From there, the Lady Cougars caught fire outscoring Oak Ridge 24 to 9 to chop the lead down to single-digits at 59-51. Down the stretch, Oak Ridge made its free throws and held on for the 66-53 victory.

Bella Lester was tops for Campbell with 15 while Lacey Pemberton added 13 and 11 came from Saylor Hutcheson. Jayden Kitts added seven with three from Carley Kitts and a point from Reagan Stanfill.

The Lady Cougars are 17 & 3 in all games and 2 & 2 in the district.
