LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Police attribute an icy road as the likely cause of a two vehicle accident around dawn this morning.

Just before 6:30am, a car and an SUV collided where College Hill Road intersects with Highway 25W, across from Krome Salon & Spa.

This SUV suffered damage while the driver was not injured.

The SUV was coming down an icy College Hill Road, according to the driver. The car was traveling east toward La Follette on the four lane, and the two vehicles collided.

This car was traveling east into La Follette and traveled about 50 feet before coming to a final rest.

The south side of the road was blocked; all east bound traffic had to cross over into one westbound lane, drive through the median and then return to the proper lanes.

An unmarked THP cruiser and LPD cruiser sit to the left of College Hill Road. The SUV was coming down College Hill Road.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating. La Follette Police and Fire along with Campbell County EMS also responded. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/18/2024-7:30AM)

  1. I want to say I’m thankful both vehicles that were involved n this wreck r ok. I personally kno the driver of the SUV involved.
I just want to say this to others with 4 wheel drive, plz plz b extremely careful cause 4 wheel drive doesn’t mean ur safe on black ice. The driver of the SUV used his 4 wheel drive option (for a lack of a better way to say it)
Thank u heavenly father for keeping all parties involved n this wrecked safe from harm.
