Marian June Jeffers, 88, of Jacksboro, TN, passed away on January 11, 2024, at The Waters of Clinton, TN. She was born in Middlesboro, KY on November 16, 1935. June was a dedicated Switchboard Operator for 17 years at Michigan & Cincinnati Bell. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Speedwell, TN, where she attended & served as Treasurer for 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther Jeffers; her mother, Evelyn G. Lawrence; her stepfather, Ronald M. Lawrence; and her brother, Billy G. Bolden (Jaunita).

June found joy in singing for the praise of her Lord. She sang in The Happy Hearts quartet from Fairfield Baptist Church in Ohio during the early seventies. Afterward, she sang solos, in the church choir, and with The Emmanuel Baptist Church Trio. Her beautiful voice touched the hearts of many. Since receiving Christ as her Savior, she diligently endeavored to reach others with the gospel message. She loved studying God’s word and prayed faithfully for her family and friends. Her sole desire would be for you to place your trust in Christ for your soul’s salvation and join her in Heaven when you enter eternity.

June is survived by her loving daughter, Tamara Proffitt (Trevor); cherished granddaughter, Katelyn Capouellez (Robert); dear grandson, Andrew Proffitt; sister, Delores Young (James) and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

June will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of dedication, love, and faith will forever be remembered by those whose lives were touched by hers.

Her memorial service will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Speedwell, TN on Saturday, January 13, 2024. The visitation will begin at 1pm with the memorial service to follow at 2pm. Immediately after the memorial service, there will be a procession to the graveside at Harrogate Cemetery.
