LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In about 17 minutes, the LaFollette City Council held its first meeting of the new year. First on the agenda was ordinances and resolutions.

The first ordinance was Ordinance 2024-01 amending the City of LaFollette Public Records Policy as set forth in Ordinance 2017-14. Ordinance 2024-02 amends the personnel policy pertaining to the Pump Act and Tennessee Pregnant Workers. This ordinance will ensure that nursing mothers are accommodated as well as expectant mothers. Resolution 2024-01 authorizes the City of LaFollette to participate in the PEP Risk Management Pool (Cyber Security) Matching Grant Program. Resolution 2024-02 amends the 2023-24 budget. All ordinances and resolutions were approved.

The council agreed to allocate a maximum of $15,000 from the escrow account for property clean up and debris (structure removals).

The police department had two items on the agenda beginning with the promotion of Dillion Marney to a full- time patrol officer at a salary of $36,664.78 effective January 13.
