  LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)-  Santa had a busy stop at the LaFollette Public Library on Thursday with over 200 kids attending the annual event. 

 Parents were snapping photos as the “real” Santa Claus and Mrs. Clause listened to children give their Christmas wishes. 

Santa’s helpers LaFollette Librarian Nancy Green and Culture Coalition Executive Director Manuel Mesa handed out books to kids at Thursday’s Christmas event the LaFollette Library.

Santa’s helpers, LaFollette Librarian Nancy Green, along with Culture Coalition Executive Director Manuel Mesa and Roane State’s Director Sharon Wilson handed out books, book markers and pencils to the kids.

Children also had stories read to them and got cupcakes, cookies, chips and drinks at Thursday’s event. 

For some kids, it was their first picture with Jolly Old Saint Nick and for others, they knew the drill and had their Christmas list in hand.

“We’ve been doing this event for years and the kids just love it. Each year, the crowd grows and they line up to see the real Santa Claus. It’s all for the kids,” Librarian Nancy Green said.

  1. This couple do a great job playing the Clauses. But why do we keep seeing them advertised as the “real” Santa? Does that mean anyone else wearing the same suit is not as “real”?
