UPDATE at noon on Dec. 20: One arrest was made in this morning’s raid. The target of the investigation, 49-year old Sonya Deshea Bell, 703 South 7th Street, La Follette, was charged with an outstanding warrant, meth for resale, felony possession and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance.

In a cold, daybreak operation, the La Follette Police Narcotics Unit and Special Response Team successfully executed a narcotics search warrant at a La Follette home.

The correct address of this residence is 211 West Elm Street.

“Our investigators have been conducting undercover buys of meth for a few months from this residence,” said La Follette Police Lieutenant Matthew Forsyth. The home sits on the side of Rose Hill at 211 West Elm Street.

The La Follette Police Narcotics Unit and Special Response Team arrived at this home just after 7am.

“There was a pit bull in the house that bit the home owner and then bit one of our officers. The dog had to be restrained until Animal Control could get here,” said La Follette Police Chief Steve Wallen.

Arrests are pending from Wednesday morning’s drug raid.

The target of the raid was at home at the time of the raid, according to the lieutenant. Arrests are pending as investigators continue to comb through the home. “It’s gonna be a while before they finish,” said Forsyth. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/20/2023-8:30AM)

  1. Shout out to LPD for only restraining the dog instead of ending it’s life, even after it bit a officer. We have a good police chief, Steven is a good guy
