LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – La Follette Police Officer Isiah Lloyd was recenlty dispatched to Big Lots in La Follette about a possible theft. During the investigation on Sun., Nov. 3, around 5pm, the suspect was identified as 44-year old Angeline Irwin.

According to a report from the La Follette Police Department, it is alleged that Irwin swapped price tags on items at Big Lots with price tags of lesser value than those that were originally applied to the item. Inside of Irwin’s purse was $38.74 worth of merchandise concealed in her purse. Also in the purse was seven Suboxone packs with no prescription and an oral syringe containing a dark liquid labeled THC. Irwin could not provide a prescription for the Suboxone.

Irwin also had an active warrant from Claiborne County.

Irwin, 44, 1226 Long Hollow Road, La Follette was charged with theft of property under $999.99, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance and hold for Claiborne County. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/14/2023-6AM)
