Caryville Cares Playground nears completion

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On Monday evening, the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen met for the final meeting of 2023.

First on the agenda was a second reading of Ordinance No. 2023-07 amending the code of ordinances Title 17 Chapter 1, Refuse and Trash disposal. Next up was a second reading of Ordinance 2023-08 amending the zoning ordinance that reduces lot sizes from 15,000 to 12,000 square feet. Ordinance 2023-10 amending the annual operating budget for fiscal year 2023-24 was approved.

Alderman Patrick Pebley updated the board on the progress of the new playground, the Caryville Cares Playground. The playground is almost complete, all that remains to be completed is concrete work and fencing. The concrete work will be completed when the weather permits.

After the regular meeting, the beer board met and approved nine permits. Those permits are El Rey Azteca Mexican Restaurant, Jack and Dianne LLC, Rocky Top Market #919, JCSS, LLC (Blind Frog Café), Pilot Travel Center, LLC #1577, TA Operating, LLC and Dollar General Store #14511.
