KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Your Campbell County Cougars were looking to get back in the win column in the midst of a three game losing streak. The opponent for the Orange-and-Blue was the two win, one loss, South-Doyle Cherokees.

With 4:51 to go in the first quarter, Campbell led the Cherokees 7-4. However, the lead would not hold. South-Doyle proceeded to go on a 15-2 to run to end the first quarter.

The ‘Kees would continue to build their lead in the 2nd quarter, leading Campbell at the half 33-15.

Campbell would outscore the Cherokees in the 3rd quarter 12-10, cutting South Doyle’s lead to 43-27 after three.

South-Doyle would hang on to the lead in the fourth quarter. The ‘Kees led Campbell when the final horn sounded 56-38. After starting the year 3 and 0 , the Cougars fall to 3 and 4. South Doyle improves to 3 and 1.

Unofficially, Gavin Cox, your local realtor Gage Dople Player of the Game, led Campbell in scoring with eight points; Luke Browning scored seven; Jordan Day tallied six points. Tyler Kitts and Logan Day scored 4 points apiece. Gavin Owens, Will Croley, and Keegan Nelson all scored two points, and Gabe St. John rounded out the scoring with one point.
