LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Last week, around midnight, on Wed., LaFollette Police Officer Zack Daugherty was dispatched to Pleasant Ridge Rd to the Pleasant Ridge Apartments, owned by the LaFollette Housing Authority. The complainant reported that Dillion Shane Barnes was on the property and was stalking her.

Prior to his arrival, Daugherty checked for warrants and a no trespassing order. Daugherty found Barnes had an active warrant and had been on the LaFollette Housing Authority no trespassing list since Nov. 2022.

The complainant told LaFollette Dispatch that Barnes was on a bicycle and fled over a hill when he saw law enforcement approaching. Daugherty along with Sgt. Shane Tielman, Sgt. Timothy Collingsworth and K-9 Goose began to search for Barnes, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.

He was located hiding in a wooded area directly across the street from the apartments. After placing Barnes under arrest, Daugherty noticed clear bicycle tracks leaving the property from where Barnes was trespassed.

Daugherty spoke with the complainant who stated that she saw Barnes ride his bicycle from the East end of the complex before stopping and watching the complainant until law enforcement arrived.

Barnes, 26, 306 W. Fir Street, LaFollette was charged with evading arrest, criminal trespassing and burglary.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/07/2023-6AM)
