JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It was another great turnout for Saturday’s Veteran’s Appreciation Breakfast held at First Baptist Church of Jacksboro.

State Representative Dennis Powers and his wife Tracy Powers, along with County Mayor Jack Lynch and multiple county commissioners were at Saturday’s breakfast.

The monthly event is hosted by the county mayor and commissioners and takes place the first Saturday of the month. Next Saturday is Jellico’s Veteran’s Breakfast, which is held quarterly.

A speaker or entertainment is at each event. Saturday’s speaker was Veteran Marilyn Childress from the Veteran Heritage Site Foundation.

According to Lynch, the Veteran’s Breakfasts have “over 100 in attendance every time, and are growing.”

He and County commissioners wished to extend a “special thanks” to Olivia Lobertini of the Grand on Central for sponsoring Saturday’s event.

It was great fellowship, food, and entertainment, according to Lynch.
