Like in its second game in 2022, the Campbell Cougars rang up 46 points and a win last week in the second outing of 2023. It came over Fulton in a game that saw eight lead changes with the Cougars making the last change on their way to the 46-30 victory. As the Orange-n-Blue looks to The Kings Academy on Friday, Head Coach Justin Price talks offense. Campbell scored 40 points or more in four games last season and 30-plus points in three other contests.

Price calls the homestanding Lions good upfront and big in the box on defense. “They may try to keep more defenders in the box after they saw how we ran last week (300+ yards),” said Price.

The Kings Academy is a program that defeated Webb a season ago though it’s still searching for a win this year after two losses. It fell 28-21 at Grace Christian Academy, and 50-6 last week at home to CAK.

Price, a former quarterback, is more inclined to offense than his defensive minded twin brother Matt, and he explains that we have to have answers which may be a different run play and sometimes it’s going to be throwing the football. “So, just like sometimes, if we’re throwing the football well, our answer has got to be in the run game,” said Price.

“I think we have answers, and we’ve been preparing for them for a couple of weeks,” said Price. He goes on to say the good thing about offense is you are who you are, and you gotta be good at what you do. “You can’t always let the defense dictate what you wanna do, but you do have to have answers for what they’re (defense) trying to do,” said Price.

This marks the first-ever meeting in football for Campbell and TKA.
