Marvin Henderson Miller, one beautiful soul, age 79, formerly of LaFollette and a resident of Ooltewah, Tennessee for many years, passed away, Tuesday, August 29th. Preceded in death by parents: Henderson L. Miller and Evelyn Goins Miller and father and mother-in-law: Ed and Caroline Sharp Robinson, brother-in-law: Robin Robinson, nephew: Andrew Drake

Marvin was truly one highly achieved civil engineer at TVA Knoxville, TN and Chattanooga, TN for years. He was given the highest of accolades through the entirety of his years there to usher him out at his retirement. Awed by his boss, peers and co-workers, he was honored at his retirement dinner with gusto. Marvin held a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree with honors from UT of Knoxville. In his words “Friends and Family mean everything to me.”

Daughters: Dawn Miller Zandi (Ben), Melissa Miller Roessler (Dane).

Sisters: Maxine Miller Goins (Ray), Vickie Miller Braden (Bill).

Sister and brother-in-law: Cindy Robinson MacLellan and John

Brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jim Robinson and Mimi

Grandchildren; Layla Desiree` Zandi, Gabriel Roessler, Racquel Roessler

Nieces: Allison Braden Johnson (Johnathon), Laura Braden Hatmaker (Tom), Kimberly Goins Drake

Nephews: Derrick Goins, Robin MacLellan

Great nephew and niece: Carson Hatmaker, Elizabeth Drake

Funeral Service will be held 3 PM Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Cross-Smith Chapel, Rev. Bill Braden officiating with interment to follow at Jacksboro Cemetery.

  1. I am so sorry to hear of Marvin’s passing. Such a shock. My deepest sympathies to his family. Sorry I can’t be at the service. My husband has cancer and I don’t feel comfortable leaving him. Love and prayers, Vicki McNeeley Sewell.
