David Henry “Stumpy” Shown, age 71 of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Methodist Medical Center. David was born on March 15, 1952 to the late George H.A. Shown and Inez (Hazeltine) Shown. He enjoyed farming, watching U.T. sports, spending time with his grandsons, and his dog Dolly. David was also a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and a member of the Iron Workers Local 384, Knoxville, TN. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Brenda Sue Shown.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Kathy Shown of LaFollette; sons Brad Shown and Trent Shown both of LaFollette; grandsons Peyton Shown and Lawson Shown; brothers Steve Shown and wife Sue of LaFollette; several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, July 24, 2023 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Lawrence Henegar officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 10:00 AM interment.
