LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – La Follette Fire Department First Responders were paged to a possible overdose call at 12:46pm Thursday at an east side home. A Campbell County EMS unit and officers with the La Follette Police Department and investigators with the LPD Narcotics Unit were also called to the scene.

LPD Officials told WLAF News there were two confirmed overdoses with a possible third. Juveniles were involved along with at least one adult. Aid was still being administered to a 19-year-old male inside the ambulance while one male was placed in the back of an LPD cruiser when WLAF News left the scene just after 2:30pm.

“Mushrooms, we found everything” said one officer. Upwards of 100 pills and possibly fentanyl were also recovered from the home at 322 North Massachusetts Ave.

Officials with the Department of Children Services are also investigating the incident as are investigators with La Follette Police.

The scene was cleared nearly three hours later at 3:36pm as two patients were transported to the La Follette Medical Center. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/18/2023-3:30PM)
