LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Officials urge you to stay away from the areas around Miller’s Bridge and portions of Old Middlesboro Highway and Doaks Creek Road again today.

The request results from airdrop practice sessions that will be conducted in that area east of La Follette at Norris Lake.

“Members of The Tennessee Division of Forestry will be practicing airdrops with pilots from the Tennessee Air National Guard today,” said Jay Muncy, II, Director of Campbell County Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

Four aircraft practiced on Wednesday.

That’s Thursday, May 24, around the Miller‘s bridge and Doaks Creek Road area. Doaks Creek Road will be closed along with parts of Old Middlesboro Highway starting at 8am both days, according to Muncy.

“We request that you please stay out of the area,” said Muncy. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/25/2023-6AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF JAY MUNCY)
