James “Robert” Burriss, age 67 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a very avid Tennessee football fan that enjoyed watching old westerns, hunting, fishing, or doing anything outdoors.

Robert is preceded by his parents, Russell and Imogene Sue White Burriss; brothers, Dennis Burriss, Floyd Burriss, and Teddy Burriss; sisters, Linda Seiber and Lucille Adkins.

He is survived by his son, Joe Burriss of Jacksboro; daughter, Sue Ella White and Cris Miles of Oak Grove; brother, Wade Burriss and wife Tammy of Rocky Top; sisters, Brenda Burriss of Rocky Top, Annie Seiber and husband Raymond of Rocky Top; grandchildren, Taylor White, Conner Berrier, Cayde Burriss, and Cameron Burriss; great-grandchild, Caroline Sherwood.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 5 PM to 7 PM. Funeral Service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. George Asbury officiating. Family and friends will meet on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 10 AM to go in the funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 11 AM interment.
