LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A LaFollette man has been arrested in connection with multiple mailbox thefts, according to a press release from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.
On Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office received multiple complaints of mail theft from local citizens. According to a sheriff’s office press release, deputies with the CCSO went to a residence on Coolidge Road and located a vehicle believed to be involved in these thefts.
Detectives with the CCSO responded to the scene and questioned the subject, Patrick Scott Leach of Pleasant Ridge Road, LaFollette.
The 22 year old Leach admitted during the course of the interview that he opened approximately 30 mailboxes from various addresses in the Davis Chapel, Carr Wynn, Coolidge and Back Valley Road communities.
Leach’s home was searched and detectives retrieved hundreds of pieces of mail that are believed to be stolen from various addresses within Campbell County.
Sheriff Barton confirmed this investigation is ongoing and further criminal charges are expected.
