LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was nearly 9pm, July 2, when Campbell County Sheriff’s Sgt. Josh Jeffers was radioed by central dispatch of the report of a possibly intoxicated man jumping on cars in the 200 block of Frontier Road east of La Follette. When the sergeant was on his way that address, he came across 40-year-old Billy Roark walking in the middle of Clawson Road.

Jeffers said Roark was allegedly unsteady on his feet, staggering trying to regain his balance. The sergeant alleged Roark’s speech was slurred and his eyes appeared to be watery and bloodshot.

Based on the report from the sheriff’s office, Roark told Jeffers he had consumed two or three alcoholic beverages before he began walking down the road.
