NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) –The NFIB Tennessee PAC, the political action committee of the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, has endorsed State Rep. Dennis Powers, R-Jacksboro, in the House District 36 race. The NFIB Tennessee PAC is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

“Our members support the candidates who demonstrate they will support small business consistently, and Representative Powers has shown us that he understands the significant challenges today for our state’s entrepreneurs,” said Jim Brown, the National Federation of Independent Business’ state director for Tennessee. “Representative Powers is committed to creating and maintaining a positive environment for small businesses in the district and across our state.”

Powers is seeking re-election to the new House District 36, which will include Campbell, Union and eastern portion of Claiborne counties as a result of redistricting.

“Small businesses are important to the economic success and prosperity of Tennesseans,” Powers said. “I am honored to receive this endorsement from the NFIB Tennessee PAC, and will continue to support legislation that promotes the positive business environment that exists in Tennessee.”

The NFIB Tennessee PAC endorsement is critical to candidates’ campaigns. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB Tennessee PAC’s political support is based on the candidates’ positions and records on small business issues.
