Bryson Dotson and his partner Holden Pistello competed in the tournament that was held on Pickwick and Wilson Lakes in Florence, Alabama, June 22-25. The pair competed against 416 anglers from around the country.  They fished all week, made it to day four and finished at 23rd place out of 416. Teams from most U.S. states and multiple foreign countries competed in the dual event.

“We’re really proud of them!” said Bryson’s dad Jason Dotson.

It was a three fish limit tournament each day. On day one Dotson and Pistello had one fish for 4 pounds. Day two they had 9.04 lb for 13.11 pounds total, which put them in 111th place. On day three they weighed their biggest haul with 12.07 pounds, putting them in the top 31 for day 4 on Saturday. On Saturday they only caught two at 4.08 pounds, placing them in 23rd overall.

The boys were also selected on the final day of the tournament to have a camera crew in their boat for the filming of a TV show that will be aired soon covering the High School Fishing World Finals on the Pursuit Channel.

“I’m super proud of these boys for representing their school and competing against the best teams around the country,” Jason Dotson said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/28/2022-6AM)
