LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A 21-year old Jacksboro man is in jail tonight while a teenager is in the hospital following a predawn single-vehicle wreck on Glade Springs Road. Authorities say the 19-year old young man was among three people in a Nissan Altima that flipped on its top with Dustin Lee Hash-Gilbert behind the wheel. Related story.

A few minutes before 6am Friday, a passerby notified Central Dispatch of the mishap where Springfield Drive meets Glade Springs Road. It was reported that there were three people walking down Glade Springs Road presumably from the wreck.

The car flipped at the entrance to Springfield Drive.

When WLAF News arrived on the scene at 6:20am, there was no one from the car around. A short time later, the three passengers resurfaced with Hash-Gilbert being taken into custody while the teen was transported to the La Follette Medical Center and then to a Knoxville hospital.

One person from this wreck was taken to the hospital.

Hash-Gilbert, 21, of 214 Crown Pointe Lane, Jacksboro, was charged with DUI (driving under the influence), drivers to exercise due care, violation of the Tennessee financial law and vehicular assault. Hash-Gilbert does not have a bond amount set and is due in court on June 7. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/29/2022-7PM)
